When is a site visit to the company necessary?

A site visit makes sense when the project depends on physical processes that are hard to reconstruct remotely: warehouse, production, job sites, workshops, document flows between departments, or local infrastructure. It's not required on principle: it's used when it reduces ambiguity and project risk.
